We are looking for a Registered mental health Nurse to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity as we expand our existing Recovery Service to include individual care packages for people in mental distress with high mental health support needs.
We provide 24 / 7 supported accommodation with round the clock staff support.
This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about empowering others and making a real difference in people's lives.
These individual care packages will support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs for two women.
You will need a strong commitment to trauma-informed practices, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to draw on a range of therapeutic interventions and strategies.
You will need to have a scope of practice to work in mental health and utilise your clinical nursing skills to support our people in their recovery.
Ensure individual support and recovery plans are developed alongside robust risk assessment and safety planning.
These are reviewed in collaboration with stakeholders including physical, emotional and spiritual aspirations.
This is a fixed term position ending in June 2026.
You will be working Monday – Friday, 9 : 30am – 6pm, based in Pukekohe, Auckland.
You will help identify and meet the guest's individual health and social care needs and support them to reconnect with community services and take control of their own lives.
You will conduct physical assessments and support people with goal planning.
Additionally, you will provide ongoing emotional support and mental health care tailored to their unique challenges, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care, and foster a safe, respectful, and empowering environment within the home.
Your role will also involve monitoring medication adherence, managing crises effectively, and advocating for the guests to ensure their voices are heard in all aspects of their care and recovery.
You'll also have
Must be a New Zealand fully Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate.
Comprehensive and / or mental health and addiction scope, with the ability to work within the field of mental health.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral and excellent organisational skills
Hold a full clean New Zealand driver's licence
An understanding of what you need for your own wellbeing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn new computer programmes and skills
Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the articles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
