Job descriptionEmpathy toward individuals with disabilities. High energy and stamina for active support. Calmness in challenging situations. Resilience to maintain safety boundaries. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to engage with clients, families, and colleagues. Support motivation for personal care and daily living skills. Excellent verbal and written English. Interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification. Experience supporting people with disabilities, mental health issues, or challenging behaviours (desirable). Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people. Full New Zealand driver’s licence. Ability to pass a NZ police check. Computer proficiency (Word, Internet Explorer, e‑mail). Worked in the care workforce for 3 years or more at the care workforce wage rate, or Hold a relevant qualification at NZQCF level 4 (or a diploma for skill level 2). - Provide assistance with personal activities to enhance client independence.
- Support community participation and social engagement.
- Assist with work or educational activities.
- Help with daily living tasks and personal care.
- Collaborate with the care team and maintain client records.
