Community Support Worker - Permanent Reliever - Central Auckland

At Spectrum Care, we provide support for adults with intellectual and / or physical disabilities to live great lives. As a Community Support Worker, you will take on tasks that are dynamic and will depend on the needs and dreams of each person. You will provide assistance with personal activities such as community participation, socialising, work or education and daily living tasks.

The role is Part Time - 32 hours per week, with a pay rate of $23.38 - $29.10 per hour, and is located in Mangere, South Auckland.

Responsibilities and Requirements

As a Community Support Worker, you will need to have empathy for the challenges of trying to build an ordinary life while living with a disability, energy to keep up with someone who likes to be on the go a lot, and the ability to remain calm and calming in all situations. You will also need to be resilient, able to communicate effectively and supportively, and have excellent verbal and written English skills.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have an interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification, experience supporting people with disabilities, and a full New Zealand driver's licence. They will also need to be able to pass a NZ police check and have the ability to use a computer effectively.

  • An interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities, and or mental health issues, and / or behaviours that can be challenging
  • Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Able to pass a NZ police check
  • The ability to use a computer effectively
