GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join schools in Christchurch.ResponsibilitiesSupport students with mental health and emotional needs in the classroom.Work on a one-to-one basis or with small groups to build confidence and resilience.Assist teachers in managing behaviour and ensuring an inclusive learning environment.Encourage students to engage positively with their studies and peers.Monitor and report on student progress to teaching staff and pastoral teams.Help create a safe, supportive, and caring atmosphere within the school.RequirementsCACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or a degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.Experience supporting children or young people with mental health needs.Strong communication and empathy skills.The ability to remain calm and patient under pressure.A genuine commitment to promoting mental health and wellbeing in education.Why Join GSL Education?
