Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
At Whanau Awhina Plunket, our nurses are trusted healthcare providers supporting whanau through home visits and clinic appointments.
We take time to understand our clients, providing evidence-based health education and working alongside whanau to find the right pathways for effective early intervention where concerns are identified.
We are piloting delivering immunisations for under 5s, alongside our traditional Well Child service, with opportunities for training if needed.
Working in the community during a cost-of-living crisis means meeting whanau facing significant challenges.
Our clinical responsibilities are complemented by social support to ensure pepi are raised in safe and healthy homes.
Community Nursing requires flexibility and resilience, working with and understanding home and whanau dynamics, and responding accordingly.
This may involve rescheduling appointments or being prepared for anything when asking, "how is it going, what is most important to you today?"
