About the Role
In this permanent, full-time role, you'll handle everything from managing dog-related concerns to addressing wandering livestock and compliance issues.
With a focus on education, enforcement, and investigation, you'll help create a safer, more responsible environment for everyone.
What you'll be doing
Educating the community on animal management and promoting compliance with legislation.
Investigating dog attacks by gathering evidence and interviewing involved parties.
Preparing legal files for prosecution and representing Council in court when required.
Maintaining accurate records and effectively managing workload.
Monitoring both sides of the Kaipara District, working closely with communities to ensure safety.
This role includes a rotating 7-day roster with after-hours on-call shifts.
A company vehicle is provided for district-wide responsibilities.
What we're looking for
Experience in a regulatory role, handling compliance matters involving dogs, stock, and enforcement.
Strong understanding of the Dog Control Act
Proven ability to manage investigations and enforce legislation effectively.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
A current first aid certificate and full New Zealand driver's licence.
Bonus : National Certificate in Compliance and Regulatory Control (Animal Control).
