About the team
The Reviews and System Capability business group operates as a cohesive, expert advisory function to government, providing strategic and operational leadership across key programmes of work.
Its focus includes :
Strengthening regulatory system capability through a range of targeted interventions and mechanisms; and
Enhancing regulation and regulatory systems by conducting focused reviews of varying scope and complexity.

You'll work at the heart of government in a central agency, collaborating with passionate professionals who care deeply about making a meaningful difference for New Zealanders and the issues they care about most.
You will :
Lead a team of professionals to conduct regulatory reviews into critical issues that affect everyday New Zealanders
Turn complex information into bold, actionable policy advice
Influence regulatory change at all levels of government by maintaining relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
Manage complex work programmes by setting clear objectives, and measuring and monitoring progress and results aligned to strategic priorities
Oversee professional and personal development for a team of advisors at different stages in their careers
Lead key stakeholder relationships.
You will bring
A strong background in delivery, with demonstrated experience of leading legislative change from policy development through to implementation
Advanced critical thinking, sound judgement, and a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and what drives them
Experience in leading high-performance teams in dynamic and fast-paced environments
Excellent relationship management skills and confidence in constructively challenging the status quo
Expertise in leading public engagement and cross-sector collaboration
An inspiring and effective leadership style that supports professional growth and team cohesion
Experience in matrix management is desirable, though not essential.

Salary range : $169,590 - $224,313
