Food makes such a difference to the residents' lives which is why the Ascot Care Home located in Invercargill is searching for a Kitchen Assistant to support the Chefs with providing deliciously nutritious meals for the residents to enjoy.This is a casual position, hence, there are no guaranteed weekly hours.Rotating roster covering Monday – Sunday.Hours of work : 6 : 30am to 8 : 30am or 4 : 00pm to 8 : 00pm.The role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a real difference when your support is needed most.This is a great opportunity for those who are wanting to work on a casual basis and to get a foot in the door to the catering industry.Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesGeneral kitchen duties (dishwashing and cleaning).

Assist with food preparation.Adhere to Hygiene and food safety standards.Maintain confidentiality.Follow Health and Safety procedures.About YouIdeally, you will have one year's work experience in a similar role, however, we will provide training and support with career development.You will be a team player, with the ability to work independently, and who is prepared to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into to whatever needs to get done.Demonstrate empathy, enthusiasm, and have a genuine passion for making a difference to residents.Ability to work rostered and rotating shifts (including weekends).
