Established in 2016, ARC Vets is an independent NZ family-owned referral practice with two state-of-the-art small animal hospitals in Auckland, ARC Central Ltd in Freemans Bay, and ARC North Ltd in Albany. We’re a 24 / 7 operation with an incredible team of specialists in surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, oncology, dermatology, and critical care. ARC North also offers hydrotherapy services.

We have all the equipment you would expect in a modern referral veterinary hospital includingfull in-house laboratory suite with Radiometer, multiparameter patient monitors, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, underwater treadmill, mechanical ventilation, on-site CT and MRI, along with dedicated cat and dog receptions, consulting rooms and wards.

Job Description

What is the role?

We are looking for thorough and responsible part time cleaner(s) for our Freemans Bay veterinary clinic.

The hours available are Monday to Friday 6pm – 12am = 30 hours per week.

Duties include :

  • Clean and maintain equipment promptly and efficiently according to practice protocols .
  • General cleaning of designated areas including scrubbing surfaces, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning toilets, refilling consumables, laundry, etc .
  • Attend to soiling and spills ( blood , urine , faeces ) in a timely manner in accordance with health and safety requirements .
  • Maintain strict hygiene controls in accordance with practice policies .
  • Complete daily and monthly cleaning checklists

  • Starting hourly rate is $24 to $26 per hour
  • Desired Skills and Experience

    Skills and experience

  • Must be comfortable working around animals
  • Reliable, punctual and honest with a good eye for detail
  • Prior cleaning experience with a genuine interest in cleaning is preferred
  • Be physically fit and energetic
  • Strong communication skills with a great attitude and willingness to contribute to our team’s success
  • A driver's licence and access to a vehicle would be great if you are going to work between both clinics.
  • Working with a customer service focus and pride in the work you deliver
  • Show initiative to work autonomously and with little supervision
