Overview

Our mission is to empower the global restaurant community to delight their guests, do what they love, and thrive. Toast is expanding into new countries and markets, and we are seeking an Account Executive to serve as a founding member of our New Zealand team. As a founding Account Executive, you will build something meaningful from the ground up, acting as an early member transforming how restaurants operate locally. Using a consultative approach, you will prospect, build relationships, and sign up new restaurateurs in your local area.

By understanding their unique needs, you will develop a customised solution that helps Auckland businesses thrive. We need your passion and sales expertise to help us build the Toast brand in your geographic territory. This role requires autonomy, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and the opportunity to create frameworks, processes, and initiatives that define the region’s growth for years to come.

This is a field sales opportunity. Candidates must live locally to Auckland, NZ or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Generate a list of prospective restaurants and manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting through close (experience with self-sourcing clients is a huge plus).
  • Conduct demos and develop solutions that best meet the prospect’s needs.
  • Partner with teams across the business to ensure that expectations set during the sales process are met in delivery.
  • Leverage Salesforce (CRM) to manage all sales activities.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and determine how to best position Toast in the market.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a sourcing or closing sales role, restaurant operations, or a relatable field.
  • Founder mentality to work on 0-1 deals, ability to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced and new environment.
  • As this is a field position, you must have reliable transportation (mileage is reimbursed).
  • Strong communication, organisational and presentation skills with the ability to sell and negotiate at all decision-making levels.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and flexible.
  • General technical proficiency with software.
