Description Higgins have an opportunity for a Foreperson to join our team working on the Waikato District Council northern road maintenance and renewals contract.
The contract covers North Waikato from Huntly to Pokeno and includes maintenance of a comprehensive network of approximately km of sealed and unsealed roads including rural and coastal areas.This is a hands-on role where your primary focus will be operating a range of heavy civil machinery to carry out maintenance works.
You'll also take on foreperson duties, leading a small crew and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
What You'll Be Doing Operate a variety of civil and roading plant including excavators (1–20 tonne), rollers, and loaders.
Carry out stabilised pavement repairs, dig outs, drainage work, concrete works, slip repairs, and minor earthworks.
Lead and support your crew on site, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Assist with planning daily tasks and coordinating resources.
Be available for on-call roster and respond to call-outs within 60 minutes.
