About the role
As Control Systems Professional Head, you'll guide the technical direction for KiwiRail's control systems and ensure they meet world-class safety and performance standards.
You'll support the Technical Director, Engineering, and provide expert oversight across design, construction, maintenance, and compliance.
This role is central to managing risk, setting standards, and ensuring our control systems keep New Zealand's rail operations running safely and smoothly.
What you will bring
A relevant engineering or computer science degree
At least 10 years' experience in the rail industry or similar
Strong knowledge of control systems, data networks, and systems engineering
Experience setting standards, reviewing designs, and providing technical assurance
The ability to build strong relationships across teams and with external stakeholders
A collaborative leadership style, with a focus on safety, integrity, and teamwork
