Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites, payloads, and their components, including spacecraft that have been selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.

SOFTWARE PRODUCT OWNER

As a Software Product Owner, you’ll be the vital bridge between business needs and technical execution, shaping internal software solutions that drive Rocket Lab’s operations forward. You’ll lead the full product lifecycle—from concept through delivery—working with cross-functional teams to prioritize the right features, deliver quality solutions, and iterate continuously.

Your decisions will directly impact how we build, launch, and improve—from the factory floor to mission control.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO

• Build and communicate a clear product roadmap aligned with strategic goals and user need
• Manage the complete product lifecycle, ensuring quality, scalability, and innovation.
• Translate business needs into actionable user stories and define clear development cycles.
• Lead both internal and external customer requests, ensuring that the software delivers real value and fits end-user needs.
• Serve as Scrum Master, driving agile development practices, facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, and ensuring continuous improvement
• Act as the liaison between stakeholders and technical teams—bringing clarity, direction, and alignment.
• Use data, KPIs, and user feedback to guide decision-making and refine product strategy.
• Champion communication across teams to foster a collaborative and iterative software development culture.
