Join us as a Sport and Event Coordinator and help bring campus life to action!

You'll design and deliver an inclusive, high-energy sport and events programme that gets students active, connected, and engaged - from social leagues and Interhall competitions to national and international tournaments.

You'll also recruit and support referees and volunteers, ensuring every event runs smoothly and safely.

Salary will be in the range of $71,275 - $84,695 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.

With a background in recreation, sport, or event management, you bring proven coordination and leadership skills from managing teams and budgets to delivering safe, high-quality events.

Tech-savvy and a natural communicator, you're confident using digital tools and social media to connect and promote.

You work collaboratively, adapt easily under pressure, and bring creativity and enthusiasm to everything you do.

A commitment to equity, inclusion, and partnership with Maori is at the heart of your approach.

You'll also need flexibility to deliver and support events outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, to ensure every experience runs smoothly.

The Sport and Wellbeing Group develop and manage high quality, relevant sport and wellbeing programmes and facilities that support students, staff and the wider community to be active and healthy, enhancing the University of Waikato experience.

Sport and Wellbeing managed facilities and services include UniRec, Wellbeing Hub, Esport Arena, and university sport fields, events and clubs.
