About the Role
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced registered nurse for the position of Nurse Manager OPR.
This is an opportunity to gain skills and experience working in a senior nurse role with a supportive team of knowledgeable and experienced CNMs and NMs in the Medicine and OPR Directorate.
This position requires participation in the Hospital Manager after hours on call roster.
Key responsibilities :
Oversight of patient care, including inpatient areas
Supporting and leading bed flow
Leading quality initiatives
Managing incidents and risks
leading change and improvement projects
Supporting a team to provide excellent patient care.

About the Service
The Medicine and OPR Directorate is a large service responsible for the delivery of both acute and planned care.
Our Medicine and OPR directorate at Waikato Hospital is comprised of an Emergency department, 8 inpatient wards, community services and concare facilities.

About you
Success in this role will hinge on your proven experience (minimum of 7 years) in an operational leadership role alongside extensive clinical knowledge and experience in the Medicine / Older Persons Rehabilitation environments.
The successful candidate will :
Have competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting their journey and taking ownership of their learning and growth.
Be able to demonstrate leadership experience in terms of managing complex dynamics associated with multi-professional groups.
Be able to assess and make effective decisions under pressure in complex situations and use their own judgement to problem solve.
Understand how to use data to improve quality, performance and
Have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy within New
Demonstrate highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to negotiate, resolve conflict and positively influence and motivate others.
Registration with the Nursing Council of New
Expert level on the Nurses Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) or if appropriate has achieved senior nurse level on the Senior Nurses PDRP.
7+ years experience in leadership in a complex health-related environment with Medicine and Older Persons, Rehabilitation clinical expertise.
