This role is to ensure all our learners with additional learning and wellbeing needs can access the support they require to fully participate, progress, and achieve success.

The LSC will be at the heart of our multi-layered support system, building capability across the school and ensuring the coherence of all learning support provision.

Key focus areas

Whanau partnership : You will facilitate strong partnerships with GSS learners and their whanau to ensure planning is mana-enhancing and aligned with shared aspirations.

This includes initiating requests for specialist support and coordinating access with Ministry Learning Support specialists and RTLB.

Inclusive practice & cultural responsiveness : You will promote a culture of inclusivity at GSS and ensure support is delivered in culturally sustaining ways that uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

School capability building : You will strengthen teachers' capability to support all learners by interpreting assessment data, co-designing support plans, and coaching staff on evidence-based inclusive teaching practices.

You will also advise leadership on strategic resource decisions and staff capability development.

We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates

Strong relational capability and the ability to build and maintain effective, positive relationships with GSS staff, students, and whanau.

Confidence in using data and evidence to inform planning, monitor progress, and report on the effectiveness of programmes to school leadership and the BOT.

The ability to lead and influence school-wide systems and continuous improvement of inclusive practices.
