Business Advisory Managers

My client has a national presence in the accounting market and is seeking a highly skilled and experienced BAS Assistant / Manager to help lead their dynamic finance team in Christchurch.

As a Manager at the firm, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic insights to drive the company's continued growth and success.

Responsibilities :

• Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly financial closings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in line with GAAP principles.
• Oversee the general ledger and maintain accurate and detailed accounts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and tax filings, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support key business decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve overall efficiency.
• Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering their professional development.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field in NZ.
• A CA / CPA qualification, or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Assistant / Manager or in a similar role within public practice accounting in NZ
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong proficiency in financial analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
