We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the maintenance, servicing, and operational management of our construction plant and equipment. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring all machinery, vehicles, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards to support our construction projects efficiently and safely.
This is a full-time (40 hrs), permanent position with an annual salary of $95,000 to $115,000 depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and coordinate the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all plant, trucks, and associated equipment.
- Plan and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
- Oversee vehicle inspections, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage the loading, unloading, and secure storage of construction materials, plant, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, service history, and plant usage.
- Ensure adherence to all safety standards and promote a culture of safety across the team.
- Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to coordinate timely delivery and movement of plant and materials.
- Supervise and support plant operators and maintenance staff, ensuring effective performance and training where required.
- Monitor performance of vehicles and equipment, proactively addressing any potential malfunctions.
- Manage supplier and contractor relationships related to plant servicing and parts procurement.
- Oversee the upkeep of sheds, site kitchenettes, and site hoardings, including painting and minor works.
Skills and Experience :
A minimum of 2 years proven experience in a plant management, maintenance, or fleet operations role within the construction industry.Strong technical understanding of plant equipment, trucks, and maintenance processes.Excellent organisational and time management skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Sound knowledge of health and safety practices and compliance requirements.Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.Competent computer and record-keeping skills.Full NZ driver’s licence (Class 2 or higher an advantage).What We Offer :
