About the Role : Leading Hand, Wanaka - Expression of Interest
Due to continued growth across the region, Cook Brothers Construction are looking for Expressions of Interest for an experienced Leading Hand to join our team in beautiful Wanaka.
This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will set standard on site, working closely with our Site Managers, Build Team, and Foreman to ensure every project is delivered to the highest standard, on time and on budget.
You will play a key role in building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, leading and supporting your team on the tools and taking a proactive, solution-focused approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Acting as a vital link between Trade Partners, Site Management and the Build Team, you will ensure communication is clear, tasks as well delegated and project delivery runs smoothly from start to finish.

To succeed in this role, you will bring a recognised NZ or Australian Carpentry qualification and solid experience in commercial construction, supported by strong structural knowledge.
Previous leadership experience within the construction industry is essential, along with a passion for mentoring others and celebrating team success.
You will have excellent communication skills, confidence to have honest and constructive conversations, and sound IT abilities, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite.
A proactive approach to health and safety leadership is a must, while experience in high-end residential projects or holding an LBP qualification will be viewed favorably.
