Motor Underwriter

About the role

We’re looking for a Motor Underwriter to join our Specialty underwriting team in Auckland. Your role would be to drive new and existing business across our Motor lines.

This role will see responsibility for :

• Preparing and communicating quotations, bindings, policy conditions and mid-term adjustments / endorsements
• Negotiating rates / terms with brokers
• Following up offer of new quotations / renewals
• Updating reporting systems
• Development and maintenance of broker relationships including visitations to client offices which may include presentations
• Ensuring excellent service standards are maintained
• Answering broker enquiries
• Working effectively with the team to accomplish agreed underwriting goals

About you

A self-starter with great communication and organisational skills and a minimum of three (3) years Commercial Motor experience with demonstrated knowledge of client industries and businesses and risks as well as market knowledge, good interpersonal skills and a passion for excellent customer service and building relationships. Enjoys working in a close-knit team and highly collaborative environment, is able to make decisions, a drive to grow the business through team success and a hunger for personal development.
