Construction & Projects Lawyer

Overview

A leading New Zealand law firm is seeking to hire two additional lawyers into its market-leading construction and projects team. Opportunities exist at both intermediate (3–5 PQE) and senior associate (6–8 PQE) levels, offering exposure to significant infrastructure, energy, and development projects.

The successful candidates will join a well-established, top-tier practice that advises on complex infrastructure, commercial development, and renewable energy projects across the public and private sectors. Work spans the full project lifecycle—from procurement and risk structuring through to delivery and dispute resolution—for developers, funders, contractors, and government entities. This is a front-end focused role involving contract drafting, negotiation, and strategic project advisory work.

The team is engaged in innovative energy and infrastructure developments, with a growing pipeline of work in renewable energy, social infrastructure, and urban regeneration.

Responsibilities

• Front-end construction and projects work including contract drafting and negotiation.
• Provide strategic project advisory work across the full project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with developers, funders, contractors, and government entities on major infrastructure and energy projects.
• Contribute to innovative energy and infrastructure developments and a growing pipeline of renewables, social infrastructure, and urban regeneration projects.
