Overview
Join our dedicated Open Spaces team at the Operations Depot.
As a Waste & Litter Collector, you will play a central role in keeping our district clean, safe, and welcoming.
The role is full-time and fixed term from November
Responsibilities
Collect litter from street and reserve bins across Whakatane, Kopeopeo, Taneatua, Edgecumbe, and Ohope.
Maintain reserves, playgrounds, cemeteries, and sports grounds.
Support the Open Spaces Gardening team with sports-ground renovations, general reserve maintenance, and amenity work.
Operate and maintain trucks and small machinery such as mowers, weed-eaters, water blasters, and scrub cutters.
Champion health and safety practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself, your team, and the community.
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in operating and maintaining small machinery.
Confidence with equipment such as mowers, weed-eaters, water blasters, scrub cutters, and tractors.
Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
Willingness to support a wide range of maintenance tasks across open spaces.
Full, clean driver's licence (Classes 1 & 2).
Required to undergo and pass a pre-employment health check and drug test.
