Join Microsoft as a Software Engineer II - Azure Kubernetes Service and help build the world-leading managed Kubernetes service for Azure customers.
Overview
As a member of the Azure Kubernetes Service resource provider team, you will work on the orchestrator that provides and manages Azure customer Kubernetes clusters.
You will collaborate with other Azure services, the Kubernetes control plane, and the broader cloud-native tool chain, designing and delivering solutions at a global scale.
Responsibilities
Advance the capabilities of Kubernetes and auxiliary components on Azure.
Improve quality of service for Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service.
Balance pragmatism with vision; deliver continuous improvements to the team's process and codebase.
Build automation to prevent and / or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents.
Review current developments and proactively seek new knowledge that improves availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 2+ years of engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Go, or Java (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of commercial software development experience.
1+ year(s) of experience building, shipping, and operating reliable, distributed solutions.
1+ year(s) of experience engaging in site-reliability engineering practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of technical engineering experience in C, C++, C#, Go, or Java (or equivalent).
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years of technical engineering experience in C, C++, C#, Go, or Java.
1+ year(s) experience with workload / container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar platforms.
1+ year(s) experience in Linux.
Other Requirements
Must meet Microsoft, customer, and / or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.
