What you’ll be doing
The Project Engineer position in Meridian's Asset Deployment & Operations Team will be responsible for :
- Developing concept designs, performing due diligence for hardware and technical solutions, and engineering from post‑contract execution to project delivery and commissioning.
- Ensuring safety‑in‑design, compliance with AS / NZ standards, WorkSafe guidelines, NCOP and Meridian’s quality and safety standards.
- Providing support for asset management, maintenance and fault response across our EVCI network and solar PV assets.
- Project management and coordination efforts for the EVCI and solar PV project pipelines.
- Delivering technical sales support to Sales and ICT teams to enhance capabilities and targets.
- Supporting New Zealand’s decarbonisation through PV systems, EVCI and energy storage solutions, while scaling in‑house technical capabilities.
- Embedding a robust health and safety culture and aligning all projects with relevant processes and safety expectations.

Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of project engineering experience delivering PV, battery and EV charging design sets and engineering concepts.Experience engaging with industry stakeholders, networks / EDBs, contractors, suppliers and customers.Proficiency with engineering and design programs (AutoCAD, PVSyst).Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.Strong understanding of project budgets and commercial acumen.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Experience with EV infrastructure, PV engineering / design and energy storage projects.Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across various sectors.CPEng and Engineers NZ registration is highly sought after.Why join us?
