About the Role
As a Senior Account Manager you will take ownership of a high-value portfolio of automotive dealership clients, driving strategic account growth, retention and upselling digital advertising solutions.
Reporting to the National Sales Manager and working closely with the Managing Director, you will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring client satisfaction while identifying opportunities to expand revenue and deliver measurable results.
Success in this position requires someone with proven B2B sales experience, strong commercial acumen and a professional, client-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of high-value automotive accounts ensuring strong long-term relationships.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients handling escalations and strategic consultation.
Upsell and cross-sell AutoTrader's digital advertising products and solutions.
Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive retention and revenue growth.
Provide clients with data-driven insights, ROI analysis and tailored recommendations.
Collaborate with sales, marketing and product teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential clients to drive growth and revenue.
Proactively reach out to prospects and potential clients to generate interest and build relationships.
Prepare and present tailored proposals and solutions that meet client needs and drive sales.
Negotiate and finalise agreements to secure new business and maximise revenue.
Guide new clients through onboarding, ensuring a smooth setup and understanding of products or services.
Maintain strong ongoing relationships with clients to support retention and long-term satisfaction.
Mentor and support junior Account Managers, sharing expertise and best practices.
Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity in the digital advertising space.
Key Skills and Experience Needed
Client-focused Account Manager with strong experience in the automotive or digital media industry.
Proven track record of delivering results in B2B sales and account management.
Ability to balance strategic account planning with day-to-day relationship management.
Organised, detail-driven and proactive.
Driven, punctual and well presented.
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
4+ years' experience in account management, sales or a related field (automotive or digital advertising preferred).
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence at senior levels.
Understanding of digital marketing and online media is advantageous.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and highly organised.
Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot) is an advantage.
