Responsibilities

Role and team

The Fiscal Reporting team, within the Office of the Government Accountant has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Systems Accountant to join its dynamic and highly skilled team.

We provide financial leadership to the public sector, and in this role, you will assist in the administration of a key IT system that produces the financial statements and forecasts for the Government, ensuring things run smoothly.

You will also be the key contact for users in your role running the helpdesk.

This important work takes a special kind of person with a passion for making a difference and getting things done.

The specific experience, skills, and qualities that will help you succeed in this role include :

Qualifications

A passion for helping others and comfort in both a finance and IT environment

An understanding of collaborative ways of working the desire to be part of an efficient supportive team

A demonstrated ability to manage key stakeholder relationships

A can-do attitude with a strong focus on continuous improvement

An understanding of basic SQL and Public Sector experience are both desirable, but not essential.
