In this role, you will be the sole person responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial systems and leading continuous improvements to optimize them. You will play a key part in supporting the Senior Financial Accountant and Management Accountants with reporting and audits.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on financial systems and general financial accounting to staff and management.
- Implement new financial system functions and upgrades, and maintain the financial system's administration, including month-end and year-end processes.
- Deliver specialized systems accounting services that contribute to the organization's outcomes.
- Maintain and develop automated processes, such as cost allocations and interfaces to other internal systems.
- Develop and maintain reports, queries, and dashboards.
- Provide help desk support and user training for financial systems.
- Lead initiatives to optimize the full potential of financial systems and business processes.
- Prepare and ensure accurate external reporting to the Treasury in a timely manner.
- Actively participate in year-end and interim audits.
Skills and Experience
CA or CPA qualification or working towardsA financial systems accounting background, including exposure to systems implementationIn-depth knowledge of accounting systems, spreadsheets, and databasesAn understanding of the machinery of governmentContact
