You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, marital status, pregnancy, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability or protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.OverviewEast Penn is currently seeking a Buyer who will be responsible for routine support of the production scheduling staff or procurement manager within the organization for all procurement-related tasks.ResponsibilitiesReviews Purchase Requisitions and converts to Purchase orders as requiredResponsible for procurement of purchased materials, parts, supplies in support of the Manufacturing FacilityCommunicate with assigned suppliers to ensure system information is accurate and up to date for all procurement functions within MRP SystemNegotiate advantageous pricing, contracts, terms, warranties, delivery / handling obligations, etc.Relationship management of assigned suppliers including the ability to lead procurement during business auditsSupplier research and development, monitoringCoordinates with other departments to reconcile discrepancies in inventory and stocking levelsProvides direction to Assistant Buyer(s) for the coordination of return shipments of damaged or defective material(s) in addition to seeking creditResearches and selects suppliers as appropriateIdentify risks that could impact the supply, delivery and customer demandMonitor supplier performance and provide feedback to suppliersUnderstand current industry and government regulations governing sustainabilityIdentifies opportunities for improved inventory management and reducing purchase budgetsReviews and evaluates pricing changes for company impactParticipate on new product teams as required, coordinating supplier pre-approvals, quotes, and new product entry into the MRP systemManage and process Invoices, Packing Lists and other Order History documents in conjunction with the assistant buyer(s).
