The Advisor - Ministerial Services works as part of a small collaborative team focused on ensuring the timeliness and quality of official information requests, Ministerial correspondence and written parliamentary questions are met.

This is an opportunity to be a key member of one of the busiest Ministerial Services teams in Wellington.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manages official correspondence and other information between Police National Headquarters, Parliament, Police districts and members of the public.
  • Oversees preparation of written parliamentary questions and manages Executive approval process.
  • Triages, assigns and manages approval process for official information requests.
  • Ensures Ministerial and official correspondence is regularly reviewed for quality, consistency, timeliness and appropriateness to audience.
  • Drafts appropriate and strategically sound responses to correspondence and questions for Executive approval and release.
  • Prepares advice for the Office of the Ombudsman requests and reports.
  • Manages Police's Information Request Tool for the up-to-date recording and monitoring of official correspondence and other information.

    Utu a-tau | Salary

    This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306 and $91,353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
