Tenei turanga - About the Role :

A fixed-term / secondment opportunity has arisen for a Minerals Advisor in the Minerals Operations Team, Resource Markets Branch at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

The Minerals Operations Team regulates the responsible development of the Crown Mineral Estate across a range of commodities including gold, silver, heavy minerals sands, coal and aggregates.

In this role you will focus on the active management of prospecting, exploration and mining permits during their lifecycle, and efficient assessment of permit applications in line with regulatory best practice.

We are looking for someone with an understanding of the New Zealand mineral sector and / or experience in a regulatory role, with exposure to regulatory compliance.

You will have effective business writing skills, the ability to work with flexibility and to adapt to change quickly, and great relationship management skills.
