Overview
Salary 27.50$ / hr + Loyalty bonus.
This role involves receiving cartons of cherries off a conveyor belt, sorting and stacking them onto their correct pallet, and use a handheld barcode scanner to accurately record these movements.
You will check this data is correct before wrapping, strapping, and labelling the pallets of fresh cherries for distribution.
Working alongside you will be a team of 3-5 people, your role will be to supervise, help teach and motivate this team to perform at their best.
The Coolstore TL plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity, monitoring order fulfilment, ensuring stock accuracy, optimizing storage capacity, and adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.
This is a summer season fixed term role which should ideally begin 2nd week of December 2025 and continue until the end of January 2026.
We would require someone who is available to work in the wekeends as well since cherry harvest is a busy period.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Lead the coolstore team and promote an enjoyable work culture
Ensuring the delicate cherries are handled with care
Notice any labelling errors as cartons come of the conveyor so they can be quickly corrected.
Sorting cherry cartons by brand, weight and fruit size as they come off the conveyor.
Accurately scan cartons onto pallets
Monitor order fulfilment, keeping the packhouse manager updated with progress.
Print and double check pallet cards for accuracy
Use a pallet jack to move pallets around the coolstore
At the end of your shift ensure all fruit including part pallets are scanned so that management can produce accurate stock on hand reports.
Consolidate pallets as directed by management
Assist with labelling pallets for transport.
Ensure the coolstore is left clean and tidy, swept and rubbish taken out.
Escalate any issues to management
Providing all support to the dispatcher
Skills and Qualifications
Excellent conversational English is required.
Access to your own transport to and from work.
Good mathematics skills
Physically fit and able to lift and stack 5kg-18kg boxes and crates.
Relevant work experience such as storeman, in-wards goods, outwards goods, warehousing, distribution centre, pick and pack, or stock control would be an advantage.
Supervisory or leadership experience would be an advantage.

Hours and Work Environment
Hours are variable depending on fruit volume, expect between 6-10 hours per shift.
You will either be on the morning shift or the afternoon shift.
The coolstore is very cold, around 0-1 degrees Celsius, warm jackets and over-pants are supplied.
