- About the roles
- There are a range of roles available across both teams, at different levels and different specialisations.The thing they all have in common is that as a trusted legal advisor with the NZIC you will work behind closed doors on matters that the public never see. We can't reveal all of the details that you will get to work on, but it will be complex and challenging. No two days are the same, so you will be expected to find practical solutions to novel issues.You will work on high‑impact matters, partnering with teams across our agencies and outside them, to provide decisive, trusted advice that keeps the full range of NewZealand's intelligence operations, cyber security activities, and commercial and corporate activities, lawful, effective, and future‑ready.

- We are looking for people who are keen to make a difference and be at the cutting edge of legal issues. You will need to be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and thrive on working in the grey.Applications are accepted from lawyers of all backgrounds, especially those with any of the following areas of experience and interest : commercial, operational, public sector, international, corporate, technology, intelligence and security.

- Before you apply
- Working within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.You must :
- Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 yearsORHold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
