Mo te turanga | About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and motivated Disabled Care Workers with an interest in physical activity and wellbeing to join our team.

Alongside personal care and emotional support, you will also encourage and guide clients in physical education-style activities to promote their health, mobility, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assist with hygiene and dressing.

Perform household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping.

Arrange and participate in social and recreational activities to encourage community involvement.

Offer companionship, emotional support, and friendship.

Assist clients with mobility and support their independence.

Administer medication and follow care plans as needed.

Plan and facilitate physical activities tailored to clients' abilities, such as light exercise, stretching, games, or outdoor activities.

Encourage participation in movement-based programs that enhance strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall well-being.

Collaborate with the team to integrate physical education principles into daily care routines.

Mo koe | About You

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Experience in caregiving is valued but not essential, as full training is provided.

Experience or an interest in physical education, recreation, or coaching will be highly regarded.

Requirements

At least 3 years of relevant work experience or NZ Register Level 4 qualification.

Ability to pass a police check.

A current New Zealand driver's licence.
