- Collaborating across RNZ teams to develop and delivercompelling editorial content
- UpholdingRNZ’s editorial standards and reputation for quality journalism
- Generatingand pitching story ideas daily
- Writingsharp, concise intros, headlines, and supporting notes
- Editingand processing audio packages and interviews for broadcast
- Conductingwell-researched, balanced interviews
- Creatingengaging online content tailored for rnz.co.nz and social platforms
- Usingdigital tools and social media to expand RNZ’s reach
- Applyingsound knowledge of media law in all content
- Contributingto a positive team culture and supporting other teams as needed
- RepresentingRNZ publicly in line with its standards and values
- A tertiaryqualification in journalism or equivalent experience
- Proven experience asa journalist across visual, written, and audio formats
- Strong knowledge ofnational / international news and current affairs
- Experience in liveproduction and converged storytelling
- Excellent writing andediting skills for online and broadcast
- Confidence on cameraor a willingness to develop this skill
- The ability to workunder pressure and meet tight deadlines
- A collaborativeapproach and strong relationship-building skills
- A broadcast-qualityvoice and commitment to te reo Māori pronunciation
- Initiative,creativity, and adaptability in a fast-evolving media landscape
