About the role :

We\'re looking for a creative and digitally-savvy team player to join our marketing team in a junior-to-mid level role. This is a hybrid position that blends social media management, digital advertising, influencer marketing, and hands-on content creation across image and video formats. You\'ll be at the heart of our campaigns, helping shape how our artists connect with audiences across New Zealand and around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy & Production

Capture, create, and curate high-quality content in video, basic animation (e.g. adding lyrics / titles), infographics, images, and social media posts.

  • Generate ideas for engaging content based on target audience and business objectives.
  • Contribute to production, including scripting, shooting, editing, and post-production tasks.
  • Collaborate with external creatives (photographers, videographers, editors) for larger briefs by preparing briefs and coordinating shoots.
  • Plan and execute content capture for touring artists and events.
  • Develop content strategies for artists\' social media channels.
  • Social Media & Owned Channels
  • Manage Sony Music’s local social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter).

  • Manage Sony Music’s website, keeping it engaging and up to date.
  • Develop and implement social content strategies aligned with broader campaign goals.
  • Maintain a content calendar to plan and schedule releases.
  • Monitor performance and engagement; share insights with the team.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams and stakeholders to define social media and content strategies aligned with artist and brand goals.
  • Work with artists, managers, brands and internal teams to craft digital storytelling narratives across platforms (TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Meta, Discord, and emerging channels).
  • Build content strategies that align with the visual identity of our artists and brands, coordinating artwork and shoots for campaigns.
  • Develop and implement strategies that drive first-party acquisition and engage fans, building artist audiences creatively.
  • Digital Marketing
  • Set up and manage paid digital campaigns (Facebook Ads Manager and TikTok Ads).

  • Monitor campaign performance in real time, optimize as needed, and report results to the team.
  • Develop and execute CRM campaigns for international artists, localising global initiatives and ensuring integration of first-party data strategies.
  • Platform Optimisation
  • Monitor and optimise content for search and algorithms to improve visibility and organic reach.

  • Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm changes, and creator tools; identify new digital opportunities for artist storytelling and fan interaction across DSPs and social ecosystems; educate the label on incorporating them into campaigns.
  • Stay informed on music and pop culture trends to keep output relevant for both emerging and established talent.
  • Conduct content and social media audits and competitor analyses to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Influencer Marketing
  • Identify and engage with influencers and content creators to promote campaigns.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners in the influencer community.
  • Keep creators updated on new releases and foster collaboration networks.
  • Admin & Team Support
  • Coordinate with legal for contract creation (content creators, photographers, competition T\u0026Cs).

  • Provide general support to the wider team, including event assistance and occasional errands.
  • Continuous Learning
  • Stay updated on emerging social media and content trends, digital marketing techniques, and industry developments.

  • Experiment with new formats and channels to enhance content effectiveness.
  • Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in creative content services in the music or entertainment industry.
  • Expert user of content creation tools and software, including in-app creation tools on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, etc.
  • Strong understanding of fan behaviour, online culture, and artist-brand storytelling.
  • Expert social understanding across networks and platforms with best practices for different audiences.
  • Excellent eye for detail; proficient in graphic design and editing software including Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Ability to manage end-to-end workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for staying educated and up to date with trends and innovation in the social media ecosystem.
