The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health (Dunedin) has a long and proud tradition for teaching and research. The department hosts internationally recognised experts and units such as the New Zealand Child and Youth Epidemiology Service, the New Zealand Paediatric Surveillance Unit, and the National Mortality Review Data Group.
The role / Te mahi
We are seeking a Teaching Fellow to join the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, based in Dunedin. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering clinical skills education to medical students across paediatric settings, including hospital wards, outpatient clinics, and community health centres. Teaching Fellows provide a key point of contact for academic queries from students, assisting with tutoring and pastoral care. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with staff from Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora and community providers such as Plunket and Tamariki Ora.

This is a part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed-term position until November 2026 based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
The salary range for Teaching Fellow is $98,583 to $105,898 per annum. As a part-time position, the salary range for this role will be the pro-rata equivalent of the annual full-time salary range listed.
