At WellSouth, we are dedicated to promoting health equity, ensuring everyone has access to the highest quality of care and enabling better health outcomes for people in the Southern region.

The Health Promotion Specialist (HPS) is a vital role embedded in our equity team, with a strong focus on empowering communities and integrating health promotion throughout all WellSouth teams and activities. It will support general practice to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes across the Southern Region. The HPS will ensure a particular focus on WellSouth equity projects as well as community projects for Māori, Pacific and other priority populations.

The HPS will contribute to improved health outcomes through projects that align with the WellSouth strategy and objectives through evidence-based and cost-effective actions.

Responsibilities

• Support general practice to improve health and wellbeing outcomes across the Southern Region.
• Embed health promotion within WellSouth teams and activities and contribute to equity projects.
• Focus on community projects for Māori, Pacific and other priority populations.
• Contribute to projects that align with WellSouth strategy and objectives through evidence-based and cost-effective actions.
