We are looking for a passionate person with an interest in supporting safety and wellbeing for children and family.
About the opportunityIn this role, you will use your understanding of family harm and child protection in the context of the health care sector to train and support Te Whatu Ora Southern staff on Family Violence and Child Protection issues.You will be implementing the Violence Intervention Programme (VIP) - a Ministry of Health initiative - that aims to reduce the harm from family violence by implementing an early intervention programme, aiming to enhance clinicians' understanding of the importance of routine inquiry in the context of family violence and child protection.We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of tamariki, whanau, and the broader community.You will bring the following :A comprehensive understanding of the dynamics surrounding child abuse and family violence, developed through experience in both hospital and community settingsProven experience in delivering training and providing support to clinical teams with empathy and assuranceCultural awareness and a strong commitment to equity and inclusionExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsA collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across various services and disciplinesPrevious experience in child protection and family violence intervention is essentialKnowledge of relevant legislation and its application to health settingsA tertiary qualification in social work, nursing, or a relevant equivalent qualification in a related health fieldCurrent New Zealand registration and an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) appropriate to your registered health practitioner qualification.Driver's license and ability to be flexible to allow district travel as required
