Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacherEnglishHillmorton High School is a diverse urban coeducational school situated in the southwest of Christchurch.

It encompasses Y7 to 13 in dedicated middle and senior schools.

We have grown rapidly in recent years to a roll of around 1,400 and with further building works underway, the roll is expected to increase further.

We provide students with a caring and supportive environment, to help them achieve academic excellence, leadership skills and a love of learning.Commencing term 1, 2026 we are seeking skilled English teachers to join our growing team.In this position the successful candidates will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high quality English programmes which are engaging, challenging and responsive.

They will have the skillsto expertly guide our akonga across year levels as they gain expertise and confidence in reading, writing, and speaking.

They will also be committed to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and an enjoyment of literature and language.A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the understanding and ability to operate in culturally responsive ways, is essential.
