Waimairi-iri Burnside High School is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated teacher who is focused on student engagement and achievement. We are seeking an assistant teacher of English to commence at the start of Term 1, 2026 (Wednesday, 28 January 2026) or by negotiation. You will join a high-performing, well-resourced faculty where you will be valued for your expertise and passion.

Responsibilities

• Teach English to students in Years 7–15 / wharekura as a certificated teacher.
• Engage students and support achievement within a high-performing, well-resourced faculty.
• Contribute to the school’s co-curricular life and culture.
• participate in induction and ongoing professional development, wellbeing initiatives, and leadership pathways where appropriate.
