We're looking for a Trade Waste Team Leader to join our Shared Services team.
In this role, you'll report to the Shared Services Manager and take charge of the day-to-day leadership and management of our Trade Waste team who provide trade waste services to 7 Councils.
You'll be the go-to person for guiding your team, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering great service to our customers.

Some key responsibilities include : Work with participating Councils' three waters compliance teams to maintain and update processes to ensure ongoing adherence to compliance reporting and follow-up actions.
Deliver reporting and communications in accordance with Council's regulatory requirements.
Achieve and report on agreed trade waste key performance indicators (KPIs).
Manage the development, documentation, and execution of audit programmes to ensure trade waste audits are completed to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including legislation, bylaws, consent conditions, policies, and processes.
Ensure the Trade Waste team are appropriately trained and approved to carry out the functions and exercise the powers of an 'Enforcement Officer' including assisting with prosecutions resulting from breaches of the participating Council's Trade Waste and Wastewater Bylaws.
Ensure that all compliance and enforcement action is carried out as required by the participating Councils Manage enforcement action including investigations and reporting to ensure non-compliances and breaches of consent conditions and Bylaws are completed in accordance with best practice.
Manage the budgets for the Trade Waste team by monitoring transactions, fully reconciling accounts, and providing accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications Oo puumanawa me oo wheako | Your skills and experience Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Science or Engineering or relevant experience.
At least 5 years operational experience in an environmental, commercial, industrial, or other closely allied field of work.
Experience with monitoring and auditing of processes to ensure compliance and identify process improvements.
Strong customer focus.
Proven Leadership skills.
Financial Management skills.
Influencing skills, able to encourage others behaviour and outcomes via coaching to support achievement of goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Sound competency in MS office.
Ability to effectively manage time and meet multiple deadlines.

Develops and maintains positive and professional relationships with internal and external.
