Job Description

The Court Registry Officer (CRO) will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders who interact with the Justice system. This includes communicating confidently with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary.

The Opportunity

We are looking for talented individuals to join our District Court as a Court Registry Officer in Hamilton. We have permanent opportunities and a fixed‑term 6‑month part‑time opportunity (32.4 hours per week).

Responsibilities

• Customer Service – interacting with customers on any court‑related matter via face‑to‑face, phone or email.
• Court Taking – facilitating the running of the court, introducing Judges in English and Te Reo Māori, working closely with them in the courtroom and chambers, managing jurors and general court administration.
• Case Management – ensuring that the judiciary and case parties have all the information they need and that logistics are in place so cases are heard in a timely and effortless manner.
• Travel within the Waikato Courts may be required; must have a full clean New Zealand driving licence.

Salary

The remuneration for this role is $59,729 to $80,794, based on skills and experience.
