The Department supports BSc, MSc, MAppSc, and PhD students.

Our teaching addresses research frontiers alongside real-world challenges, and our graduates are knowledgeable about the important place of nutrition in achieving social equity and supporting the wellbeing of individuals and communities.The role | Te mahi We are seeking to appoint a permanent Teaching Fellow role in Human Nutrition.

We welcome applicants with expertise across the breadth of Human Nutrition, including applicants with expertise in culinary nutrition, clinical nutrition and public health, and Maori and Pacific health.

In this role, you will contribute to teaching across our undergraduate curriculum in Human Nutrition, including our more hands on applied nutrition papers.

You will also be involved with collaborative teaching activities, assessing student performance and collaboratively developing course content and teaching materials.

This is an opportunity for an energetic, creative and committed individual to significantly contribute to the teaching curriculum in a collegial and dynamic department and university.BSc (or equivalent), MSc, MAppSc or MDiet qualification in Human Nutrition.Enthusiasm for, and preferably experience in, research-informed teaching approaches in Human Nutrition.Proficiency in basic and advanced cooking techniques and ability to demonstrate safe and efficient food handling and hygiene practices.Understanding of recipe development and modification for nutrition goals.

Skills in menu planning and meal preparation for different population groups.Ability to prioritise tasks, balance competing demands, navigate and collaborate effectively with a variety of working styles.Willingness to learn or knowledge of te ao Maori and its role in fostering student success at the University.Skills and commitment to strengthening curriculum in relation to te ao Maori and matauranga Maori.Ability and willingness to develop a firm commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi), the University's Maori Strategic Framework and Pacific Strategic Framework, and to equity.

Some experience working with Maori and Pacific communities in nutrition and health is desirable.Further details | Puroko This is a permanent, full-time (1.0 FTE) position based in Otepoti, Dunedin available from February

The salary range is $75,727 to $87,849 per annum.
