We're looking for an Animal Control Business Support Officer to join our Community Safety & Regulatory Services team!
If you're passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, love keeping things organised, and want to make a real difference in community safety, this role is for you.
You'll be the backbone of our Animal Control operations, keeping records accurate, processes smooth, and ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
What you'll be doing
Providing top-night administrative support for Animal Control and Pound operations
Managing customer interactions face-to-face, by email, and over the phone with professionalism and care
Maintaining accurate records in OneCouncil, the National Dog Database, and other systems
Supporting the team with reporting, compliance, and process improvements
Assisting with dog registration processes, infringement notices, and regulatory documentation
Helping keep the pound running smoothly and ensuring health and safety standards are met
Preparing monthly reports, statistics, and responding to official information requests
Championing data integrity and continuous improvement across the team
Who you are
Experienced in business support or administration (bonus points for local government knowledge)
Detail-oriented, organised, and tech-savvy with Microsoft Office and database systems
Calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations
A proactive problem-solver who loves improving processes
Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Someone who values integrity, accountability, and delivering great outcomes for the community
Ideally, you understand relevant legislation like the Dog Control Act and Animal Welfare Act, or you're keen to learn
