Responsibilities

• Operate, manage, and defend the Air Force portion of the DoDIN; maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, proxies, firewalls, servers, workstations, printers, SANs, and test labs to support both classified and unclassified networks.
• Measure effectiveness of defense in depth architecture against known vulnerabilities; use available tools to identify, analyze, prioritize, and mitigate vulnerabilities to reduce risk.
• Perform, review, and validate vulnerability scans; analyze results, identify false positives, and create / monitor POA&Ms and MFRs; contribute to monthly and quarterly reports.
• Collect and review data from tools (IDS alerts, firewall logs, network traffic logs, host logs) to analyze events for possible attacks within computing, network, or enclave environments.
• Validate and analyze response activities related to cyber incidents; maintain incident tracking, plan and coordinate recovery activities, and document artifacts and analyses related to incidents.
• Assess systems and networks to identify deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
• Create reports to communicate problems and proposed solutions to government customers.
• Manage hardware inventory and access control to ensure only authorized devices are connected; identify and prevent unauthorized devices from access.
• Manage software inventory and authorization to ensure only approved software can execute; detect and prevent unauthorized software.
• Submit tickets to appropriate teams for corrective actions.
• Perform other cybersecurity-related tasks as assigned.
