About the Role :
The Technology Group is responsible for designing,deploying, and maintaining the infrastructure that enables Airways to deliverits Air Traffic Management services nationally and within our Pacific FIR.Airways technical assets are spread widely across the country and form aresilient mission critical infrastructure of national significance.
Reporting to the Chief Information & TechnologyOfficer, the Safety & Regulatory Compliance Manager (Technology Group) will provideprofessional Risk, Compliance & Safety (RCS) good practice advice,guidance, and support to other peer level business unit managers within theAirways Technology Group (TG).
The role will work in partnership with theSafety and Assurance business unit and the Airways Safety Management System(SMS) to proactively identify opportunities to improve Risk, Compliance &Safety outcomes across the technology group and deliver specific advice onresolution of key issues.
Key focus areas in the position :
Risk, Compliance & SafetyManagement
Oversee advicerelating to engineering and quality standards and collaborating with the Safetyand Assurance business unit in relation to ICAO and CAA obligations.
Ensure Airwaysoperates within Civil Aviation Rule (CAR) Parts 171, 172 and 174 respectivelyand are part of the Technology Group regulatory landscape.
Under HS&W Act 2015, responsible for the TechnologyGroup fulfilling its obligations and performing its duties within Line 1 of the3 Lines of Defence model.
Airways also hasregulatory accountability to CAA for its Safety management System under rulepart 100.
Provision of advice and services toensure Airways and specifically the Technology Group meets its employercommitment to all legislative requirements under the Health & Safety atWork Act and supporting legislation and regulations.
Support Technology Groupinvestigations and learning teams through facilitation of subject matterexpertise, industry good practice advice, data provision and information tosupport decisions as part of the first line of defence model.
Lead communication plans to distributefindings and recommendations and facilitate implementation of actions in linewith the RACI model.
Increase visibility of Risk,Compliance & Safety promotion and communication across the AirwaysTechnology Group.
Relationship &Stakeholder Management
Provideprofessional Risk, Compliance & Safety advice and support to TG managers ofhigh-risk work areas for contractors across Technology.
Lead continuousimprovement through training, coaching and building Risk, Compliance &Safety capability and culture.
Project / Initiative Deployment
Support inmanagement and delivery of projects and initiatives to address safety risk,with a tailored and proportionate approach based on urgency and importance inconjunction with the Technology Management Team.
Information Design
Ensure that the Information Designteam is equipped and able to deliver to their regulatory and operationalobligations for both Technology Group and Air Traffic Services.
Ensure that the Technology Information Frameworkreflects our CAR Part 171 regulatory obligations and is maintained and improvedas required.
Health & Safety
Responsible for pro-actively ensuringthat the priorities of safety, and the principles adopted to secure it, aremade explicit to all staff and contractors.
About You :
To besuccessful in the role, you will have :
Tertiary qualification in business or relevant field.
Solid 10years+ experience in a safety and risk focused business environment with strongcross-functional safety management experience, ideally within complexorganisations similar to Airways.
Extensivepractical experience in safety management systems, risk management, investigations,preparing reports and strategic communications around safety best practice.
Knowledge of the aviation industry especially from asafety outcome perspective is desirable.
Ability to workin a dynamic business environment, influence and collaborate with peopleinternally and externally, show resilience and agility, take ownership andfocus on delivering successful business outcomes.
