Overview

Deliver cost, estimating and technical frameworks that support complex infrastructure project delivery as part of Beca's award-winning and growing Cost Management team, with this role based in Beca's Wellington regional office.

Responsibilities

As the go-to cost management professional, you will work with multi-discipline teams to support the delivery of New Zealand's largest and most complex infrastructure and related projects.

You will provide expertise in initial and concept-design project requirements, build quantity measures and price estimates that are technically credible, and help clients and delivery teams utilise your knowledge to support major project delivery.

You will manage ambiguity in cost management, navigate potential conflicts of interest, and apply rigorous, independent cost advice.

Empowering, coaching and mentoring others will be a key part of your role, sharing knowledge and driving the development of future cost managers.

You will also represent Beca in the external market, collaborating with other cost leaders at Beca and engaging with industry organisations such as NZIQS, RICS and related groups.

As a senior figure, you will enjoy career-path opportunities within the cost management and quantity surveying discipline, including potential share-ownership participation in Beca's employee-owned business.

Qualifications

We are looking for a high-performing professional with a passion for cost management who demonstrates :

• A client-first focus and logical costing methods
• Ability to apply first-principles estimating, composite rates and benchmark data
• Skill in setting initial workable budgets at project inception and managing cost processes through completion
• Strong relationship building with contractors, design teams and cross-office collaborators
• Commercial and financial judgement, explaining complex methods in simple terms
• Experience dealing with ambiguity, especially in early project planning stages.
