About Us
WasteCo NZ Ltd offer a range of waste management services across the South Island including household and commercial waste collection, specialised medical and quarantine waste handling, industrial and utility services (portaloos, city sweeping, spill response, hydrovac, wastewater), and waste sorting both on site and at purpose-built facilities focusing on recycling and diverting materials from landfill.
About the Role
In this role your time will be split between operating machinery at the transfer station and out on the open road driving our Hook Truck.
This role operates on a rotating 6-days-on, 2-days-off roster, with an average of 8.5 working hours per day.
Day-to-day, you'll : Operate a loader and compactor to efficiently manage waste Greet and direct customers to appropriate disposal points Safely load and unload materials Drive the hook truck to other Transfer Station sites and landfills Provide relief cover at the transfer station Kiosk when required This role requires a balance of customer service, accuracy, and a strong commitment to health and safety.
We are looking for someone with plenty of experience driving class 5 vehicles and operating varied machinery.
