People come and stay at SeaLink - because of "one boat, one team" we might have all arrived on different ships, but we are all on the same boat together, working towards a common goal.About the role : Reporting to the Group Manager - Safety and Assurance, the Senior Safety and Assurance Advisor is primarily responsible for providing expert guidance, leadership and support to develop, deliver and continuously improve SeaLink's health, safety, environmental and risk management frameworks.We're looking for a confident, forward-thinking Senior Safety and Assurance Advisor who is focussed on lifting performance, strengthening compliance and embedding a proactive, risk-aware mindset across the organisation.

You'll bring a deep understanding in risk management and assurance, confidently lead audits, reviews and design prevention strategies to strengthen SeaLink's compliance and performance.

You'll be proficient in using safety and assurance reporting systems, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, documents and communications to support informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement.Key accountabilities include : Develop and maintain our critical risk framework to ensure we focus on what matters in order to mitigate these risks.Provide coaching and support to other members of the Safety & Assurance team, and Health & Safety representatives.Ensure the information held in SeaLink's Health & Safety reporting system is accurate and supports analysis to identify trends for continuous improvement.Support our leaders and teams to take responsibility for the actions allocated to them and all actions are closed to the appropriate quality within agreed timeframes.Work with managers on return-to-work plans for non-work and work-related injuries.Support the demonstration of compliance with our Maritime Transport Operators Plans (MTOP).

Review documents, policies, systems and procedures to ensure they support successful operations while meeting our legal obligations.RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will have the following skills, knowledge and qualifications : NZ Certificate Health & Safety Level 6, or equivalent, or related degreeMinimum 7 years in a health and safety advisory roleMinimum 3 years in the maritime industryLogistics or Tourism operational experience (desired)Knowledge of contemporary health and safety principalsAbility and willingness to travel across sites as requiredProven project management experienceStrong ability to build relationships, influence senior leaders and operational teams, and lead initiatives and projects that embed safe, sustainable practisesBenefitsCompetitive remunerationThe opportunity to work for a company who cares about their peopleOpportunity to work with like-minded, passionate individualsAwesome travel benefits via our vessels to Waiheke and Great Barrier IslandBirthday leave- A paid day off to celebrate your birthday!
