We are seeking a highly motivated Physiotherapist to join our Comprehensive Primary Care Team (CPCT) in Whanganui.

This innovative role offers opportunities to work within a new model of care alongside key stakeholders and General Practice.

You'll play a pivotal role in providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment to people and whanau at greatest risk of poor health outcomes.

About The Role

Be part of a ground-breaking initiative transforming primary healthcare delivery.

Work collaboratively with a diverse team, including general practices, community providers, and Maori health services.

Directly assess, diagnose, and treat patients, focusing on musculoskeletal and long-term conditions.

Develop and deliver individualised exercise programs and self-management education.

Contribute to reducing hospital admissions through early supported discharge and proactive care.

Champion equitable access to physiotherapy services for Maori, Pasifika, and low socio-economic communities.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

Holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and a relevant postgraduate qualification.

Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

Has a proven track record of clinical excellence and respect from peers.

Has an interest in the range of areas within Physiotherapy, has willingness to develop their own learning and identify and participate in skill sharing opportunities.

Can contribute to processes and relationships that foster meaningful coordination of care for those with the more complex health needs.

Possesses a natural desire to improve access to services for underserved populations.

Is culturally competent and committed to working collaboratively with Maori.
